The Demeo franchise and cross-platform experience
I was the lead UX Designer for one of the top games from Resolution Games' biggest franchise, Demeo Battles. As the idea of the game revolves around bringing back the nostalgic feeling of '80s style table-top games with heroes and creatures board pieces, the VR UI follows the concept of a "game box" from which the player can pick their characters and minions.

Brief examples of the VR UI from Main Menu to Match Setup

Some of the main challenges to solve for this game were:
1. How to fit a very broad and deep menu where some of the categories would be available in different stages of the game
2. Create a sense of more diegetic UI that would really feel like playing with a toy box
3. Accomodate the many steps of the match setup in a way that is quick, interesting and not frustrating for the player to go through each time.

Another big design challenge to overcome was the uniqueness of the in-game Team Chat UI that is very special in this game compared to other similar competitive games. In Demeo Battles the teams facing each other can use two voice channels:
1. The Room Channel, where they can talk with all the people playing that match (yes, the opponent team too!)
2. The Team Channel, where the players in the same team can have their own private voice chat, as well as be able to use strategic tools (such as air drawing onto the arena for sharing signals and directions with the teammate)
Neither of the channels is forced onto the players, they are free to switch anytime during the gameplay.

Playing Cross-platform
Demeo and Demeo Battles can be played simultaneously by players on VR and PC.
The Demeo Battles' PC UI has been tailored on the game as much as it has been on VR, for giving the Battles player an exciting new look and game modes.
